Beard restoration

What is a Beard restoration?

Beard restoration transfers suitable hair follicles, usually from the scalp donor area, into sparse or absent areas of the beard or moustache. The design is tailored to your facial proportions and existing facial hair, with careful control of angle, direction and distribution.

Before you decide.

A good decision starts with clear information. We're here to answer your questions and help you feel confident about the next step.

Who may be suitable for beard restoration?

Suitability depends on the pattern of facial hair loss, the condition of the skin, the available donor hair and your goals. Areas affected by scarring or an active skin condition need individual medical assessment before a plan is made.

Where does the donor hair come from?

Donor follicles are usually selected from the scalp. The doctor considers hair calibre, texture and curl, as well as the available donor supply, when deciding which follicles are suitable for the beard or moustache.

Can a beard transplant look natural?

Natural appearance depends on a considered outline and on placing follicles at the appropriate angle, direction and distribution for each part of the face. The plan is adapted to your existing facial hair rather than using one standard beard shape.

Can I shave after beard restoration?

You will need to avoid shaving while the grafts are settling. Once the area has healed and the clinical team confirms it is safe, the transplanted hair can be trimmed and shaved in the usual way.

When will I see growth?

The transplanted hairs often shed in the first few weeks. New growth may begin around 3–4 months and becomes more noticeable over the following months, with a fuller assessment usually made at around 12 months.
